COVID Restrictions
St Michael’s advises personal responsibility regarding COVID, but suggests you wear a mask within the building unless you are exempt. This is for safety of those who are medically vulnerable. Please refrain from entering St Michael’s if you suspect you may have COVID or have COVID symptoms.
There will be two areas of safety. The first will be in the Sanctuary where four couches are available. In this area, mask wearing is mandatory while sessions takes place. The other area will be upstairs where two couches are for those who cannot, or choose not to, wear a mask during their session. Your preference will be recorded on your Client Personal Information form.
There will seats available in the garden for those who wish to rest, ground, and chat quietly. Please note that there are neighbours either side of, and in front of St Michael’s, so you will need to be considerate of this. Seating will be dependent on the weather on the day.
St Michael’s takes no responsibility should anyone contract covid or any other illness post their healing session. But we ask you notify us immediately if you suspect or have covid. We can then inform others who were there on the day.
What is Healing?
Healing has existed for centuries and is found in almost every culture throughout history. It has been shown that even animals can sometimes benefit from healing. We do not though have the facilities for animal healing at St Michael’s. The healers of St Michael’s are NFSH, Surrey Healers and Reiki trained and work in accordance with the standards of UK Healers.
Healing is a simple, supportive, natural therapy that aims to treat the whole person, restoring balance to mind, body and spirit, as well as stimulating the body’s own natural healing ability. It is non-invasive and holistic and may bring a sense of well-being and peace to the recipient.
Healing is today used in many hospitals, pain clinics and hospices worldwide, including the NHS. There has also been considerable scientific research which has demonstrated the benefits of healing.
Who does it benefit?
You do not have to be ill to benefit from spiritual healing as it also supports good health and well-being. For healing energies to be well received it helps if the recipient is open-minded and has a desire to be healthy.
How does it work?
Healers act as channels, allowing the healing energy to flow to the person. Some people feel a sense of tingling or heat coming onto the body from the healers hands. Many people find a benefit from healing, saying it is a relaxing but also energising experience.
What about my doctor?
Healing is complementary to all forms of treatment as it is non-invasive, and patients are always encouraged to seek medical advice for their conditions and should continue with any medication or treatment recommended by their doctor. If you have any further questions your healer will be pleased to discuss them with you on a one-to-one basis.
Distant & Absent Healing
At St Michael’s, we hold a short Distant Healing ceremony early on Monday mornings. During this time, through prayer, we ask for healing to go to all the people on the ‘Absent Healing’ list. Numerous studies have been done to verify the effectiveness of prayer. It can help with the health and well-being of the person being prayed for and also brings a sense of peace to the person praying.
